Protection

Cover that pays out.

Life, critical illness, and income protection that actually fits your life.

British family walking together in the countryside

Insurance gets a bad name because most people are sold the wrong cover at the wrong time. We do it differently: a clear conversation about what you actually need, and a recommendation that we can justify.

We help with
  • Life cover (level and decreasing)
  • Critical illness cover
  • Income protection
  • Family income benefit
  • Business protection and key person
  • Private medical insurance

Life cover

There are a few different types - cover for a fixed period, cover that reduces as your mortgage shrinks, or cover that lasts your whole life. We'll explain what each one is for, and which (if any) makes sense for you. We compare across all the major insurers so you don't end up paying more for the same thing elsewhere.

Critical illness cover

If you're diagnosed with a serious illness, critical illness cover pays out a lump sum. The catch is that policies vary much more than people realise - which conditions are covered, how they're defined, and whether children are included can all differ between insurers. We'll show you those differences in plain English and make sure your policy actually pays out when it matters.

Income protection

If your pay stopped tomorrow, how long could you keep going? Income protection replaces a chunk of your salary if you can't work due to illness or injury. It's arguably the most important policy most people don't have. We'll match it to whatever sick pay and savings you've already got, so you're not paying for cover you can't actually claim on.

Family and business protection

Cover that pays a regular income to your family if you die, key person cover for a business, shareholder protection, relevant life policies - we work with families and business owners to make sure the financial safety net behind a household or a company holds up if something happens.

The questions we hear most often.

If yours isn't here, just ask - there's no such thing as a silly question on something this important.

Do I need it if my employer gives me cover?
Maybe, maybe not. The life cover and income protection some employers provide (sometimes called death-in-service) can be excellent - but it ends the day you leave the job. We'll review what you've got and only suggest extra cover where it's actually worth it.
What if I have pre-existing conditions?
We work with insurers who'll consider a wide range of conditions, and we know who to approach first - so you avoid a string of declines sitting on your record.
Can I put policies in trust?
Yes - and you usually should. Putting a policy in trust means any payout goes directly to the people you choose, without going through probate (the legal process of dealing with someone's estate). We'll arrange the trust paperwork at no extra cost.
